THIS IS A RENEWAL CLASS ONLY. Please see other dates for an INITIAL Class or call.
Exceeds the NEW California State minimum requirements for renewing your CCW. Covers mandated instruction on firearm safety, firearm handling, shooting techniques, and laws regarding permissible use of a firearm. This class will include live-fire shooting exercises with each firearm listed on your permit. Approximately 4 hours depending upon shooting skills and number of handguns to qualify with.
Course materials: Bring your handgun or handguns, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for each handgun you plan to have on your permit. This class will be both classroom and outside on the Range so dress appropriately and comfortably, approx 4 hours. The following is also recommended: extra magazines or speed loaders, concealable holster and ammunition carrier designed for concealed carry, a pants belt to carry everything, hearing and eye protection for the range and a brimmed hat or ball cap. If you normally use a Purse to carry your handgun, bring it instead of a belt holster, or bring both if you wish. Sturdy footwear, tennis shoes or cross trainers are advised as we will be moving while shooting. Bring note taking materials, lunch, or snacks if desired, water for the range.
If you have more than one handgun on your permit, you must bring the above materials for each handgun you want to have your permit. You are allowed up to Three (03) handguns on your permit. (Merced County allows up to five (05) handguns on your permit during a renewal
If you have questions give us a call. This course exceeds the State’s minimum requirements and once we have met those, we will provide additional training and give you some take away skills for additional practice on your own. Real life encounters, including shooting from different positions and some different scenarios well be presented.
