SERE – Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape
July 18 @ 09:00 - July 19 @ 17:00$200.00
You and your family have to “Bug Out”. You want to avoid detection and certainly want to avoid capture and internment. You must find a common ground with your group’s skills, organize, assign roles and responsibilities and make it to your retreat safely. You find within a few minutes of hiking that there appears to be others in the immediate area. They do not appear lawful or friendly. There is a recently deceased body lying in the bush adjacent to the path you had planned to travel in on. With obvious signs of foul play.
Using navigational skills, and topographic maps to find an alternate route; you and your group must organize, move stealthily, be ever mindful and practice security. Since not all members have any military experience, quick reaction drills must be trained, basic movement techniques, and patrol tactics must be taught and implemented. Alternative rally points in case of E&E must be established.
Darkness will catch you with miles to go. Stop early enough to establish camp. During your trip you have established that there is a possibility of the lawless group having technology. Your camp must be hidden!
Sometime during the trip you must find and purify water, navigate off trail, deal with other groups who are moving into your route of travel, and survive. You must employ and practice noise and light discipline and your camp must use IR/Thermal mitigation techniques to prevent detection. Camouflage is the main concern. Proper sentry/watch rotations throughout the night must be maintained. Proper security and awareness must be maintained not only at night, but in fact all throughout the hike, esp when dealing with the “other groups”.
