SUMMARY:Combat Medicine
DESCRIPTION:This training is a streamlining of the LE/Military “Tactical 
 Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)”\, which is the medical training that U.S. t
 roops are currently taught to save lives on the battlefield. TCCC is the r
 esult of collaboration between U.S. Special Operations Command\, trauma do
 ctors\, and emergency medical personnel to address the shortcoming in comb
 at medicine at the start\, and actually well into the current Wars on Terr
 or.\n\nIt is the combination of good medicine with good tactics. It incorp
 orates some procedures that are proven to save lives but in the past 75 ye
 ars were shunned in the medical community. TCCC has proven to reduce the n
 umber of preventable deaths in violent combat situations.\n\nAlso note\, t
 he mindset for these procedures are not to necessarily save someone’s li
 fe\, but to prevent them from dying long enough to receive hospital level 
 care. This is a very basic introduction. Due to the live fire nature of th
 is course in a pair or small unit\, you must have completed advanced firea
 rms training.\n\nTreatable Combat Injuries in which we can make a differen
 ce\na. Exsanguination - Bleeding Out (29 seconds and up)\nb. Obstructed Ai
 rway\nc. Tension Pneumothorax\nd. Hypothermia\ne. Shock\n\nDay 1 = Individ
 ual\, Partner\, and Team tactics to suppress the fight\, provide self-aid\
 , buddy aid and team aid to victims of a violent force incident such as an
  active shooter.\n- Exercises will focus on equipment and kit setup\, move
 ment with firearms (entry\, over watch\, bounding)\, communications (silen
 t\, verbal\, radio)\, use of the personal IFAK\, self aid\, buddy aid and 
 team aid scenarios. Extrication of team mates with drags\, carries\, and l
 itters in a hostile environment. Appropriate medical aid while both under 
 fire and in a secure cover location.\n\nDay 2 - Partner and Team tactics t
 o access\, locate\, treat and extricate wounded individual(s). Expanded sc
 enarios with multiple rooms\, buildings\, vehicle and open spaces with bot
 h partner\, and team operations.\n-Exercises will continue to focus on mov
 ement with firearms\, entry tactics\, communications and appropriate medic
 al aid techniques while both under fire and in a secure cover location.\n\
