SUMMARY:Field Antenna's and Comm's
DESCRIPTION:This clinic is to develop skills and understanding of improving
  your field communications in austere environments. Theory\, practical app
 lication and testing of different style antenna solutions will be covered 
 in a practical hands on class as we create/manufacture these different ant
 ennas. We will also cover communications principles\, report formats and t
 ypes\, encryption\, codes\, etc... as well as principles to reduce your vi
 sibility and emissions footprint.\n\nDress for the field. Bring: Lunch/sna
 cks\, water/fluids. note taking materials (write in the rain pads highly r
 ecommended)\, your radios\, compass if you have one )we will provide if no
 t)\, multi-tool\, and field kit. (Field kit may be battle belt/chest rig/p
 late carrier\, day pack/assault pack\, anything else you think you would n
 ormally have in the field.) A rifle is recommended but not required for me
 asurements.\n\nThe reality is that for a radio operator\, even an individu
 al rifleman as part of a larger Guerrilla force\, he must understand the p
 erformance of his antenna in the same way he does his rifle or any other p
 iece of equipment. His life depends on it.\n\nThis clinic explores the ant
 enna first from the individual perspective\, the antenna attached to the r
 adio\, and then from a higher level of capability with both omni-direction
 al and directional transmitting antennas for small unit requirements. This
  clinic is not intended to be an engineering perspective and the technical
  data is kept to a minimum so that anyone can grasp the basics of the conc
 epts in an improvised environment.\n\nAfter building a better antenna\, we
  will also dive into field reports\, encryption\, codes\, etc and see how 
 far we can establish voice communications.\n\nWater\, and all materials to
