Get your skills updated and ready. Learn what goes into selecting and setting up an observation post or listening post. Brush off your field skills and movement techniques while learning scouting/patrolling patterns for covering an area thoroughly and quickly. Get a handle on your radio reporting to convey info while maintaining discipline, brevity, dealing with transmission issues, report formats, etc.
Classroom and outside. Bring: Lunch, fluids, dress for the outdoors, movement and reduced visibility (camo or earth tones). Rifle (Cali legal), field equipment, day pack, radio, note taking and observational equipment.
