(Requires a Carbine and a Handgun)
Engaging adversaries in confined urban areas with a short-range rifle and handgun is difficult. The varied terrain and structures can result in close range engagements with restricted mobility such as between vehicles or around buildings, houses, sheds, barns or even heavy construction equipment. Conversely you may suddenly have to engage aggressors at longer distances that could be out to a few hundred meters or more.
Training in this type of environment is necessary to become proficient with the weapons and techniques required to succeed in protecting yourself and your family in that kind of situation. Such training is also necessary if you want to be a useful member of a team or group, instead of being a burden or a hindrance. Using a long gun in such tight quarters creates its own difficulties and requires additional training, some specialized techniques, as well as planning & forethought. However, that long gun is necessary in order to penetrate heavy cover and engage it longer distances. Even basics such as maneuvering without muzzling your partners or providing covering fire becomes a serious issue when operating in urban areas.
Before attending this course, your rifle must be zeroed at a known distance. You can choose whatever distance you like for your zero, but you need to be capable of shooting accurately at 100 yards using that zero. If you are uncertain of your zero or your ability to shoot accurately at 100 yards, then we recommend bringing your rifle to the rifle range that is open to the public on the second Saturday of every month and getting some coaching from our staff. Call us for details.
